About

I genuinely love to design. I am not obligated to design because I have to make a living, I design because my soul needs it. This web space is to display that part of my soul, piece by piece.

Design.

In 8th grade, I was given an assignment of creating a magazine. And boy did I. It is a keepsake item that I hold onto to this day because my 13-year old self crafted a masterpiece. It might not have been evident in that moment, but looking back it is very obvious I was heading down the right path of creating and designing. I am so passionate about dreaming up what someone might feel or think when they see a design for the first time. I’m in love with typography and how it can tell a story without even reading the page. I care about you and your business and how the design and branding is often the first impression of all the great work you do.

College drop-out.

After using the Adobe Creative Suite for almost a decade, I impatiently sat in my college courses for a year waiting to learn something. After my request of testing out of some classes was denied, I took an opportunity to stop going to school and work as an intern for a larger church (with a big budget). Depending on who I am talking to, I may or may not be proud of this decision but for me personally, I am confident it was the best choice. I learn the best with the hands-on experience through trial and error and I work the best competing with my past designs and striving to outdo myself. In these early years I developed a diverse portfolio experimenting with an ever-so-patient printer on bleeds, die cuts, metallic inks, embossing, ink trapping, etc. My design roots were planted.

Behind the Designer

I’m a wife and also a mother to a 5-year old girl; together the three of us make a cute, happy little American family residing in Nowthen, Minnesota. We took a step in a new direction and traded in suburban life for country life and now own a small business called Wildroot Cove. We have goats and chickens and will continuously dream up the next way we can glorify God with all of it – it’s been an amazing journey and we invite you to follow along on Facebook. God has truly been a part of every step in this journey as we shifted our goals and lifestyle.
